What is Black Belt Poetry Productions?
Black Belt Poetry Productions is a video production company founded by Jared Bohlken, Erin Collins, Daniel Green and Mary Haglund, four high school students bonded together by an 8th grade social project. Since 2005 they have created a large variety of content, gained over 150,000 views on their YouTube channel, and produced a 30-minute feature film. With its slow-growing fan base, Black Belt Poetry Productions hopes to become a common name on the Internet. |

How did it get its name?
Black Belt Poetry Productions got its name when Jared's mom registered the domain name "blackbeltpoetry.com" for his personal website as a Christmas present. The website, known as "Jared's Place" at the time, had sections pertaining to Jared's involvement in karate and his love of writing poetry, which sparked the name. |

What equipment is used?
Black Belt Poetry Productions uses a variety of equipment to create its content. Most videos are filmed with a Sony HDR-SR12 high-definition camera and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. Audio is captured with a RODE NTG-2 shotgun microphone. To create any music, various audio programs are used in conjunction with a KORG nanoKEY USB keyboard. |

What is this 30-minute feature film mentioned earlier?
In the summer of 2008, Black Belt Poetry Productions produced a film entitled Ithaca Unrated, a series of short comedy sketches inspired by Monty Python. It premiered at the local high school. Unfortunately, no copies are being sold at this time, and there are no plans to release the film on the Internet. |

When is new content created?
Since Black Belt Poetry Productions consists of all high school students, new content is not typically created until summer comes. However, most school video projects are released as a way to compensate for the lack of new content during the school year. |
